The production scale of China's household appliance industry ranks first in the world and is one of the industries with strong international competitiveness in China. Currently, due to macroeconomic factors, enterprises generally feel significant operational pressure. The 2019 Half Year Report on China's Home Appliance Industry shows that in the first half of this year, the retail sales of the domestic home appliance market were 412.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.1%.

These projects apply AI technology to cover multiple links such as research and development, procurement, production, and sales. For example, Haier's industrial Internet platform COSMOPlat is an AI led transformation, including building a mass customization platform from user ordering, intelligent production to user experience iteration, and an intelligent service cloud platform for interconnected factories supported by remote AI technology. In addition to achieving its own transformation, Haier COSMOPlat is empowering the ecosystem of industries such as automotive, ceramics, and clothing from the home appliance industry, replicating and forming 15 industry formats, and promoting them in more than 20 countries around the world.

Changhong Huayi household appliances high-efficiency variable frequency compressor intelligent manufacturing pilot demonstration project adopts automation and information technology, and the number of workers on the automated production line has been reduced by one-third compared to before. In the future, Huayi will achieve a production rate of one ice press product every "7 seconds", realizing intelligent connection of various links such as production line, finance, sales, orders, and customers.

New technologies such as the Internet, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and big data are reconstructing the supply chain of the entire household appliance industry. At the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the latest batch of national AI open innovation platforms, with JD Intelligent Supply Chain selected. Experts say that the value of building a new generation of AI open innovation platform for intelligent supply chain countries, from an upstream perspective, can enhance industrial resource allocation capabilities, collaboration capabilities, and service support capabilities, promote supply side structural reforms, and help traditional enterprises transform towards intelligence and digitization; From the consumer perspective, it means that consumers can conveniently enjoy "good products," "good prices," "good services," "good experiences," and even more personalized products and services, fully meeting the needs of modern consumers.
